The Hinduja controlled Ashok Leyland company sold 6,343 units of commercial vehicles, excluding the popular small commercial vehicle Dost for the month of May 2012, as compared to 5725 units in May 2011, thereby registering an 11pc growth. As for the Dost, the company sold 2,305 units for the month of May 2012. Total sales, thereby grew by 51pc for the company. For the period April-May 2012, the company sold 12,811 units (11,268 units) of commercial vehicles excluding Dost. Dost sold 4,523 units in this period this year.
